Board of Directors Appoints New Executive Director

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

All Points North Foundation’s Board of Directors is excited to announce a significant and exciting leadership change. Effective July 1, 2023, Executive Director Laura Staich will be stepping down and Director of Education Grant Partnerships Tony Moten Jr. will be taking the foundation’s helm as our new executive director. Tony will be All Points North Foundation’s second executive director since its inception in 2011.

A strategist and respected educator with expertise in leadership cultivation, collaboration, and nonprofit administration, Tony has been with All Points North Foundation since 2019 and reflects the foundation’s vision and mission as well as its passion for navigating communities upward. Prior to All Points North Foundation, Tony served as director of teacher leadership development at Teach For America, a nonprofit organization whose members and alumni have collectively taught more than five million students in the United States. In that role, Tony was responsible for setting vision and strategy for the organization and cultivating the next generation.

All Points North Foundation is well-positioned for this leadership change. Under Laura’s 12-year tenure, the foundation has grown to an asset size of more than $5M, distributed more than $6.3M to 113 grant projects, invested in solar systems that have produced more than 790 kW DC (enough solar power to operate more than 150 average-sized homes) and impacted more than 620,000 lives. During the past year, the Board of Directors, Laura and Tony have been working closely to establish this succession plan to ensure seamless continuity of foundation operations. The Board of Directors is confident that Tony’s leadership, vision and energy will help All Points North Foundation successfully navigate this next chapter in its evolution.

The foundation is currently engaged in an executive search to identify qualified candidates for the director of education grant partnerships position. Tony will continue to oversee education grant making operations with help from education consultants to ensure continuity and avoid any disruption in the grant making process until the full-time position is filled.

In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact Laura at lstaich@apnfoundation.org or Tony at tmoten@apnfoundation.org.

On behalf of All Points North Foundation’s Board of Directors, thank you for the work you do in the communities you serve and the people you impact. We continue to believe that everyone should have equal access and opportunity to realize their “true North.”

Sincerely,

Larry Promisel
